Finally, I got the ultimate (engineering) bling: The Iron Ring.
Needless to say, I'm happy. Also, since this means that now that I'm an engineer (only morally, not legally), I should post some nice complex projects instead of the simple things I normally blog about.
Below you can enjoy a few pictures of my homies (David and Cynthia) and I.
Note the (rather clever) use of gangster slang to denote how "fresh" we have become now that we have the ring ;)

That's pretty cool.
Is this an award for graduating with some sort of engineering degree of do you have to go through some extra steps?
Thanks for yout comment Josh.
Engineers in Canada get this ring when graduating. We get it in a ceremony named "The calling of an Engineer" which is similar to the physicians' Hippocratic Oath.
Too bad we don't seem to get something similar here (in the US).
Actually, according to Wikipedia there's something similar here. I wonder why my school didn't do them. We are ABET accredited.
Anyway, I graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering though I work as a "Broadcast Engineer".
Neither is here(in Brazil), no rings, no awards. Just the certificate.
I'm graduating in something that I don't know if exists this name, here it's called "Mecatronica".
It is a mix of mechanics and electronics.
I've found your blog in someplace that I don't remember where. I saw all the projects you've done here and that inspired me, so I created a blog like yours ;)
Thomaz, I'm glad to hear you're starting your own blog. Congratulations.
I'm very happy to see my blog inspired you. I'm looking forward to have a look at your projects, although I don't know Portuguese at all (but at least it resembles Spanish a bit and I can always watch the pictures).
yeah... seems spanish and pics helps a lot! Easy to understand... In that case, I'm gonna make a power supply a little more beautiful =]
hmm, sorry for my poor english!
I envy you!
